I have just tested out the Ustream.tv webcast set up for the Public Lecture and the Workshop on Ep Aur.

However, we do not yet have the fast internet connection that I had hoped. (We will have it for the 5th of October workshop). As of now, we are using the MTNL broadband connection that we have at the plani.

If you are not coming to the Delhi planetarium, for the Public Lecture today : by Prof. Tushar Prabhu, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, on "Variable stars and the intriguing Epsilon Aurigae" then do try and follow it on Ustream.

Go to Ustream.tv and in the search box for broadcasts - type - rathnasree.

The broadcast titled "Public Lecture on Variable stars and Epsilon Aurigae" will show up. Click on this small black rectangle - or in the menu option chose Go to Show Page and you should be able to view the webcast. There will be a chat window by the side which can be used to send comments and also send questions at the end. I hope all of this works - if anyone has been able to catch the webcast and has comments on the sound/video etc. post them later - so we can work on it for the planned webcast on the 5th, for the workshop on Ep Aur.

We will have a better webcam and better internet speed for the 5th.

Even if the video and audio has not been transmitted properly - do use the chat window for sending some inputs and questions - that, in itself, will be a useful exchange, to start with.
