Venkateswaran, Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Angela Trezza, Director, Italian Cultural Center and Lidia Spyrocowicz, Italian Embassy 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM Galileo – A film by Liliana Cavani Screening of the film at the auditorium of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library A recently restored version of this Italian film on Galileo, made in 1968 by Liliana Cavani, will be screened at 6 PM on the 1st of December 2009 at the auditorium of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. The film centers around Galileo's battle with the Vatican, over his scientific discoveries. The film will be shown with English subtitles. 7:45 PM - 8:00 PM High Tea The highlight of the program will be a simultaneous viewing of a live feed from a telescope, of the Lunar Occultation of some stars of the Pleiades - the viewing is made possible through the efforts of the amateur astronomers Ajay Talwar, Vikrant Narang and other members of S.P.A.C.E. and AAAD |
