DSLR Camera imaging for sky brightness measurements

Here is hoping that the Earth Hour 2010, which seems to be taken quite seriously in India, will nudge all of us with a DSLR camera and an interest in the skies, towards making some sky brightness measurements for estimating the extent of light pollution.

As an aside, here is what we could do, if we do not have access to a DSLR camera : use our eyes as detectors and come up with a starcount measure for the Earth Hour

If we do have access to a DSLR camera, then it would be worthwhile using it and taking images towards the Zenith, half an hour before, midway during and half an hour after the Earth Hour, keeping all other settings to be the same. And take darks, of course, sometime in the evening.

The best attempt in this direction and help seems to be from here
