The planetarium has an annual Children’s Fortnight celebration in the later half of November, commemorating Pt. Nehru’s birthday.
Full theater show bookings can be made for 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM. There will be a number of new shows for schools to view, during this period. These are:
Chandra : A stellar life - in English and Hindi
The Ultimate Universe - in English
Awesome Light - in English
Short special programmes will be screened following every public and school group show.
There will be special activities conducted for school groups everyday, during this fortnight. Volunteers will be available to take the students through exhibition tours between 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
November 13th - Evening Skywatch
Skywatch with telescopes will be conducted at India Gate by members of the Amateur Astronomers Association, Delhi, from sunset to 8:00 PM.
November 16th - Moon and Jupiter Carnival
Sky theater live show on Moon and Jupiter. Free entry. Timings : 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Activity limited to 250 participants.
Evening skywatch with telescopes. Viewing Moon and Jupiter through a telescope. Sunset to 8 PM.
November 17th - Astronomy and Art Workshop
Registered activity. Limited to 30 participants. In the Activity area of the planetarium. Timings : 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
November 18th - Constellation Making
Registered activity. Limited to 30 participants. In the activity area of the planetarium. Timings: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
November 20th - Sun festival
Open outdoor activity. Anyone can participate in viewing sun projection through telescopes and binoculars, and in conducting some measurements and observations. Timings : 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM
November 21st - Starcounts in the sky theater Postponed to December
A sky-theater interactive show discussing issues of light pollution. Free Entry. Timings : 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Activity limited to 250 participants.
November 22nd - Spacecraft model making
Registered activity. Limited to 30 participants. In the activity area of the planetarium. Timings: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
November 23rd - Making and using sundials
